Aston Carter Accounting Analyst in Seattle, Washington

DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A thorough understanding of the General Ledger structure in play; the processes & transactions that feed into it and impact financials

  • Participate in full cycle accounting including vendor management, invoice process management, GL coding integrity, all forms of invoice payment (ACH, Wire, Check), purchase and sales order processing, invoicing, cash application, revenue recognition and collections

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closes, prepare journal entries as necessary

  • Participate in monthly income statement account analysis and own related balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Work on special projects as required

  • Support Sr. Finance Manager with reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the GL structure and the processes & transactions

  • Collaborate with management to support overall department goals and objectives

  • Streamline accounting policies and procedures

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred with 3+ years of related experience

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of General Accounting

  • Experience working with ERP systems - NetSuite a plus

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and ability to leverage Vendor Portals

  • Takes initiative to research and resolve discrepancies in both information and numbers

  • Proficient written, verbal communication and collaborative skills

  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills with regular displays of proactiveness

  • High attention to detail and organization, and possesses the desire to produce only high-quality deliverables

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, exercise sensible judgment and prioritization of workload, all the while being an integral part of the Accounting Department
