Position Summary Access Informatics Specialists (AISs) provide access, informatics, claim processing, and product acquisition education to Alexion institutional customers (e.g., hospitals) to facilitate access to Andexxa to treat patients on FXa inhibitors with uncontrolled or life-threatening bleeds. All education relates specifically to Andexxa.Patients are Alexion's Guiding Star and are served every day by Alexion employees and their trusted partners with their hearts and minds. Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesEducate customers on basics of hospital reimbursement options by payer (Medicare, Managed Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial)In collaboration with cross-functional Alexion partners, educate customers on hospital in-patient, out-patient, and transfer codes via approved materialsEducate customers and ensure customers have accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, Physician Evaluation and Management Codes, HCPCS codes, discharge status codes, transfer codes, and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes.Educate hospital staff so that customers can create a viable workflow/s to translate a customer's existing protocol to their electronic healthcare record (EHR) system. Educate customers regarding on-Label billing and coding by site of care (e.g., in-patient, out-patient) and claims submission requirements.Deliver ethical and customer-centric educational materialsCollaborate with other Alexion cross-functional team membersTrouble-shoot field account access/reimbursement issues, needs, concerns and/or challenges to fill HCP office personnel educational gapsComply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Alexion activities.Comply with annual budget allocation within respective territory.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to learn, understand and communicate complex information.Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communications and presentation skills. Ability to effectively discover and address account needs with compelling messages and solutions.Ability to educate physicians and other healthcare professionals with confidence and expertise in an office procedural environment. Strong rapport building skills and active listening skills.Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical/medical terminology and to maintain the required technical expertise regarding reimbursement issues.Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to collaborate with medical practices and team members.Problem solver with a sense of urgency.Ability to travel regionally and cover large multi-state territories.Good organizational and planning skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Must be able to deal with people at all levels inside and outside of the company.Demonstrated technical aptitude and working proficiency in using iPad and working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Must be able to successfully complete Alexion training and meet training expectations in order to proceed to servicing customers within the parameters of the program.Must have the ability to drive to assigned targets within the territory using own automobile.Essential QualificationsBachelor's degree required, ideally with medical background like RN, PharmD, or MDExtensive hospital electronic health records (EHR) system training, with certification in at least one major EHR system (Epic, Cerner, MediTech, CPSI, Allscripts, Medhost, AthenaHealth, etc.)Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry.Minimum of 3 years' experience i
