We are recruiting for the following position(s):

Position Summary:

Group Life Counselor I or II - Posting #20578: On-Call position available for our Adult Treatment Center at Turning Point in Seattle . The GLC position will also work on the weekends as coverage is imperative due to being a 24 hour facility. The Group Life Counselor I is an entry level Human Service position that is part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team providing direct services to patients in a residential setting. Direct services may include a combination of all of the following: group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation and supervision of patients. Services are provided to adults with a substance usage disorder(s) and who may also have mental health diagnoses.

The Group Life Counselor II is a mid-level Human Service position that is part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team providing direct services to patients in a residential setting. Direct services may include a combination or all of the following: group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation, and supervision of patients. Services are provided to out-of- control, high-risk, chronic runaway youth and their families. These youth/adults have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency and may also have mental health problems. A mid-level person is expected to have a, ?moderate to complete? understanding of how to provide the direct services listed above.

This position requires proficient computer skills in order to conduct documentation in an electronic behavioral health and medical records system. An entry level person is expected to have a ?base to moderate? understanding of how to provide the direct services listed above.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree. In cases of exceptional qualifications, experience may be substituted for education.

  • Two years of experience in the field equaling one year of post high school education.

  • Must possess a current First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
