Expeditors Senior Specialist- Customs Brokerage in SeaTac, Washington

Objective:         

To provide an elevated standard of customer service and compliance knowledge in working with our customers on their import customs declarations

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to the following):

·       Entry Processing

o   Evaluate available documents, process and monitor entries

o   Billing and Dispatch (includes resolving billing and dispatch discrepancies timely)

o   Action post entry requests within 1 week of receiving notification from customer

o   Adhere to global operations procedures, customer standard operating procedures (SOP), and productivity standards

 

·       Customer Service

o   Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers based on mutual trust and respect

o   Utilize a partnership approach to overcoming challenges in import process.

o   Maintain strong familiarity with a customer’s scope and rates to suggest service changes that can positively impact the customer’s business

o   Be the point of contact to help customers navigate Expeditors internal network

o   Use the entry workflow daily to monitor all phases of an entry

 

·       Training

o   Obtain required 52 training hours annually

o   Adhere to global compliance procedures

o   Complete required assigned training timely

o   Be proactive with self-development

o   Proactively share compliance knowledge with team members

Skills

·       Advanced in Customs entry filing, compliance and management; may include specialty areas such as food/beverage, dangerous goods, tech or other

·       Proficient with Expeditors transportation systems

·       Proficient Microsoft Applications [Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.]

·       Proficient with Internet and Intranet browsers to obtain critical job function resources

 

 

Experience and Education:

·       Minimum 3-5 years industry experience and/or customs brokerage license

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to relate to customers and internal employees at all levels
