Job Description

Our Lead GSE Tech is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment used in airport operations. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, scheduling and prioritizing maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently. The Lead Tech troubleshoots complex mechanical issues, provides technical guidance, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards. Additionally, you are involved in training staff, managing inventory of parts and supplies, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless support for airport operations.

· Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the ground support equipment maintenance team

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians in equipment repair and maintenance

· Ensure all ground support equipment is maintained and repaired according to industry standards and safety regulations

· Plan and schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of ground support equipment

· Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions and oversee troubleshooting procedures

· Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback and coaching

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· 2 years of proven experience in ground support equipment maintenance and repair, with a track record in a leadership or supervisory role

· Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

· Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills

· Ability to train and mentor staff in equipment maintenance and repair techniques

· Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments

· Flexibility to work in various shifts and respond to emergency situations

· Valid driver’s license and ability to operate ground support vehicles and equipment

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
