The Team

Interns work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. Beyond hands-on experience, interns also get the opportunity to network with employees and company leaders. What’s more, our interns can fly standby travel on Alaska Airlines during their internship. That means many weekends are filled with jet setting across the country.

Key Duties

• Assist with process walkthroughs and conduct testing in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)

  • Obtain an understanding of business processes and related controls by reviewing prior year’s documentation and performing interviews with employees throughout the company

  • Make and request testing selections following our testing protocols and audit methodology

  • Use professional judgement, in consultation with Internal Audit management, to evaluate testing materials received for sufficiency

  • Provide clear and concise documentation of the work performed

• Manage workflow to complete testing according to schedule

• Identify opportunities for efficiencies in SOX testing methodology

• Assist with planning, fieldwork and testing for various internal audit projects.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

• Pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship

• Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum age of 18.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Starting Rate

USD $25.00/Hr.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
