Certified structural cable engineer (Leviton) able to read and understand underground/aerial/buried, outside plant copper cable records, survey and verify OSP copper cable plant, test circuits and identify types of working services on copper telecommunications cable using special, electronic test equipment to include, but not limited to -- - Greenlee 177 Precision Tone Generator 577hz - GPS Trackers and Recorders - Schonstedt Rodder w/ 512 Hz Frequency - Tone Arc - I&R Tone Generator and Probe 701k - Coil Hand Tone, Receiver and Head Set (Metrotel MT91A) - Test Meter Sidekick 7B - 3M Dynatel 965 TDR - Butt Set -- Harris TS22AL through physical testing on Main Distribution Frames or Intermediate Distribution Frame of the copper network and migration and consolidation of those circuits into the appropriate host physical layer pathway, usually a copper or fiber pathway. Propose consolidation of Inside Plant work on the MDF and electronics as well as physical splicing and cable reconfiguration in splice cases and stubs in manholes in the Outside Plant; street-side cabinets as well as customer CPE connections in offices, MDUs and residences. Design alternative network configuration, physically test all circuits, design the cut sheets, roll the circuits and consolidate the working circuits onto a better-quality, Layer 1 pathway which improves quality of service. The decommissioned copper cables are prepared for removal from the network in order to open new cable pathways and reduce the network complexity.
