Must have: 2 years Experience in Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics Class A CDL (Preferred but not required) Clean Driving Record Pass Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Screening Speak/Read/Write English (This position requires constant communication with supervisors, equipment operators, truck drivers, and office staff and must be able to communicate via cell phone & cb radio) Must have reliable transportation to/from work-daily Must be available Monday-Saturday and willing to work during these hours: 5:30 am-5:30 pm Must be willing and able to work if needed 40+ hours per week, 6 days per week, with \"Only\" Sundays off, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day off & in extreme summer & winter weather Be able to work independently and with supervisors and other co-workers **This is a year-round position, full time, and willing to work overtime** **Maintenance shop, tools & equipment, shop truck are provided by employer** **Employer is willing to \"train\" the right candidate depending on previous experience** **Pay is Depending on Experience and if hired will be discussed during hiring process** **Any benefits that are offered will be discussed during the hiring process** Welding experience preferred but not required (Willing to be trained if no experience) Must be able to lift heavy parts and semi truck tires for repairs and tire changes Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of Semi Trucks Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs including steering, electrical, cooling, brake systems, drive trains, suspension, transmissions, etc. Knowledge and expertise related to diesel engine components and systems Responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on (25) fleet vehicles including those in transit with loaded shipping containers & in the maintenance shop Fluent in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Interprets diagnostic test results accurately Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans Be able to \"think outside the box,\" have problem solving skills and ability to repair fleet vehicles in any situation including weather conditions Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely Keep shop and shop truck clean & organized Follows all company policies & safety regulations & standards, and supervisor instructions
