Role Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Retail Officer, the VP of Home Loans will direct, lead, and coordinate all functions of the Home Loan Department and staff.  Ensure and maintain a profitable mortgage-lending portfolio, drive production goals, oversee servicing, and provide oversight of the loan portfolio consistent with established policies and procedures.  Project professional image, exercise independent judgment, and maintain confidentiality with all member and sensitive data.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

Lead the Home Loan Department operations and administer the Credit Union lending programs consistent with Credit Union objectives.

Work with internal stakeholders, such as Marketing, Retail, and Consumer Lending, to develop strategies and tactics to drive loan production, meeting or exceeding credit union loan production targets.

Develop and maintain underwriting procedures and implement strategies that allow the credit union to actively sell into the secondary market or portfolio residential loans as balance sheet strategy dictates.

Establish and document processes to ensure the credit union is meeting all regulatory requirements and fully mitigating associated risk.

Identify and monitor all loans held for sale, providing senior management with detailed reports on an on-going basis.

Prepare periodic loan department updates and periodic reports for management's financial and operational reports, including loan portfolio statistics, status, delinquency, new loans, and interest rate terms.

Interview, train, evaluate, supervise, schedule, coach and develop department staff as needed to provide responsive and professional service to our membership.

Provide recommendation to management regarding changes to products, loan policies and procedures while following lending laws and regulations.

Price and sell products consistent with Credit Union objectives.

Manage and oversee investor relationships, including Fannie Mae, to help maintain Credit Union liquidity and limit interest rate risk.

Work to develop and maintain an exceptional member experience throughout the mortgage origination and servicing processes.  Member experience strategy should complement and align with the overall credit union member experience strategy.

Understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.

Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor.  Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
