2 years medical office experience.
Medical Terminology experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Surgery Scheduler KC you will schedule follow-up visits, diagnostic testing and procedures, surgeries at hospital and ambulatory surgery center, hospital procedures and hospital admission/emergency room treatment. Performs all duties related to scheduling including collecting prior authorizations. Coordinating with the OR and surgery center; and assisting with scheduling and collecting pre-admission and pre-clearance requirements.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.
Understand, embrace, and instill the Kadlec Clinic Guiding Principles.
Schedule patient appointments by telephone or when patient is in office. Types initial (unverified) patient demographics into the computer system.
Schedule same day visits for patients by coordinating insurance verification/eligibility with the appropriate reimbursement specialist and obtaining medical record chart and required documentation, e.g., fee ticket.
Meet with patients who have been identified for surgery to provide an overview of the process. This meeting would include discussing dates for surgery, scheduling pre-op appointment and completing any necessary paperwork. Answers any surgery scheduling questions by telephone.
Manage patient surgery checklist to ensure all appropriate documentation, prior appointments and any necessary clearances have been collected.
Coordinate the perioperative appointment schedule at the appropriate location, as applicable.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and financial obligations for the appropriate procedure/surgery, as applicable.
Monitor provider surgery schedule to ensure accuracy for surgery length and timeliness, utilization as well as any assists needed.
Schedule and coordinate the presence of manufacturing representative and physician, i.e. pacemakers, interstim, etc.
