Job Duties/Scope Of Work Essential job duties of this position include: •Supervision of on-duty Security Police Officers (SPOs) assigned in their area of responsibility. •Ensure that all required training for assigned personnel to maintain qualifications are completed in accordance with directives. •Ensure compliance with Patrol Operations procedures, Patrol policies, post orders, contingency plans, emergency procedures, and other directives. •Ensure that assigned personnel are properly equipped to complete assigned tasks. •Determine and coordinate overtime requirements and administer overtime in accordance with policy. •Conduct investigations into alleged violations of policies and procedures. •Provide completed investigations and recommendations regarding appropriate corrective and disciplinary action. •Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner. •Responsible for the overall safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and practice safe work habits. •Responsible for the immediate and effective deployment of SPOs to protect Hanford resources. •Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel. •Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. •Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings. •Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures as needed. •Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results. •Counsel employees about work-related issues and assists employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Basic Qualifications •BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or related discipline, plus five years of experience - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience. •Currently meet and maintain, at a minimum, SPOI qualifications. •Currently have a Q clearance. •Must be able to obtain Hanford Incident Command certifications. •Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Must maintain a Department of Energy Federal Commission, Washington State Driver's License, and maintain a Human Reliability Program position. Desired Qualifications •Two years of experience in a lead capacity. •In-depth knowledge of small-unit tactics, equipment capabilities, law enforcement, nuclear security protection requirements, and threat capabilities.
