JOB TITLE: SR. ELECTRICAL EGINEER LOCATION: RICHLAND, WASHINGTON (IN-OFFICE/ONSITE) ABOUT IPARAMETRICS & THE PROJECT Founded in 2003, iParametrics is a leading provider of innovative solutions in engineering, construction, emergency management, security, and data analytics. As a proud subcontractor to Bechtel, we are contributing to the groundbreaking Hanford Vit Plant project, where radioactive and chemical waste from World War II and Cold War plutonium production is being transformed into a safe form for disposal. This facility plays a critical role in protecting the Columbia River and surrounding communities. Located near the confluence of three rivers, the community offers year-round outdoor recreation, abundant sunshine, and proximity to major cities like Seattle and Portland.  POSITION DESCRIPTION The Sr. Electrical Engineer reports to the Senior EI&C Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS) and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). In this role, the engineer will engage with engineering teams and clients to address significant technical issues, providing support or leading the development of resolutions. The Electrical Engineer will plan and conduct independent work requiring expert judgment in evaluating, selecting, applying, and adapting electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with engineering teams and clients to resolve significant technical issues, providing expert support or leading the development of solutions.

  • Plan and conduct independent electrical work, applying advanced judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Perform studies, options analysis, and scope development across various electrical engineering areas.

  • Oversee specifications and procurement processes for complex electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

  • Communicate complex technical issues to upper management, providing clear recommendations for solutions.

  • Support the preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and project schedules.

  • Develop conceptual designs for electrical engineering in project areas with specialized or unique requirements.

  • Interpret and apply new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data in the engineering work.

  • Review and prepare design documentation, especially for high-complexity projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Support electrical engineering planning, performance analysis, and status reporting.

  • Mentor and develop less-experienced team members, providing guidance and support for their growth.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in resolving complex engineering issues.

  • Assist in preparing AHJ rulings, evaluations, equivalencies, interpretations, and NEC/NRTL findings database development, including related training.

  • Oversee NRTL subcontract, NEC inspection processes, procedures, and inspectors, ensuring compliance with Electrical Safety programs.

  • Review NRTL submittals, supplier Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and engineering designs to support AHJ approvals.

  • Engage with client AHJ, Electrical Safety representatives, subcontract NEC inspectors, and Electrical Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure alignment and compliance.

      BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 13 year of related electrical design experience; or MS degree in electrical engineering with 11 years of related electrical design experience. 

  • US Citizenship is required. 

  • Must be able to complete a preemployment drug screen and background check. 

  • Prior experience in a nuclear quality and safety environment. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • US Professional Engineer Registration. 

  • Specialized courses in electrical engineering. 

  • Hands on Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other computer programs. 

  • Extensive knowledge and application of NFPA codes and ANSI/IEEE Standards. 

  • Extensive knowledge on electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts. 

  • Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge with ETAP and other industry wide electrical system design tools, such as CAD 2D and cable designing and routing software. 

  • Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge with special electrical engineering tasks, assignments and studies. 

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical technological developments, conduct research and present papers. 

  • Five years supervisory experience. 

  • Excellent oral & written communications skills. 

  • Proven leadership & personnel skills. 

    PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory experience on large projects. 

Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience. 

  • Knowledgeable in Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. 

  • Familiar with Bechtel standard programs. 

    BENEFITS & COMPENSATION As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly ($33.35 - $72.16) based on experience, background, and skills.
