We are seeking a senior technical recruiter for the Talent Acquisition group within Human Resources. We have a very ambitious growth target and seek a technical recruiter who can help us bring the best computing, science, and engineering talent into PNNL. This position will screen and recruit top technical candidates to help the Lab deliver on mission.

Job Description:

  • Full life-cycle technical recruiting - own the hiring manager relationship and become entrenched in the technical aspects of the business.

  • Use effective screening techniques to assess the technical acumen, skills, qualifications, salary requirements of potential candidates

  • Lead interdisciplinary/cross functional teams to deliver on objectives.

  • Build deep partnerships with hiring managers, up to the Executive level, to understand their teams hiring needs, capabilities and knowledge requirements/gaps, business, and team dynamics.

  • Act as a consultant and SME to technical mangers and staff in hiring processes, HR related matters, compliance, compensation, leveling guidelines, immigration, etc.

  • Actively work toward building a diverse and qualified technical team to support the organization

  • Influence key stakeholders, up to the executive level, on strategic and operational topics

  • Use sourcing strategies and research methods that are successful in attracting viable candidates through methods such as web sourcing, Boolean searches, candidate referrals, social networking, etc.

  • Demonstrates expert negotiating and marketing skills and successfully close candidates.

  • Provide exceptional hiring manager and candidate experiences.

  • Manages special projects involving diverse tasks, teams, and organizations, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or 6+ years of technical experience with an advanced degree

  • Proven deep client management expertise including partnering effectively with all types of teams and levels of people.

  • Ability to use innovative research & sourcing methods to hire for niche areas, hard to fill roles, and diversity.

  • Initiative to implement against opportunities, including removing barriers and working successfully with a wide variety of staff with different skills sets, levels, and styles

  • Keen eye towards metrics and data, both to self-manage and to facilitate empirical, data-driven conversations.

  • A great team player and able to prevent differences in style and approach between self and team members to develop relationships

  • Attention to detail and meticulous organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or degree in a technical field such as Software Engineering/Architecture to Cybersecurity to Infrastructure (storage, networking, database, etc.) to Data Engineering/AI/ML to Cloud, engineering, etc.

  • The ability to effectively deal with conflicting priorities, change gears on short notice and adapt to fast, evolving environments.

  • Exceptional interviewing, communication, negotiation/closing, organization and problem-solving skills.
