Description This is a combined posting for an Associate Patient Services Specialist, Patient Services Specialist and Senior Patient Services Specialist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. Under the general supervision of the MGR PATIENT ACCESS/SCHEDULING, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verify insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility and provides quality customer service to internal and external customers. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance and medical information and ensuring this is documented timely and accurately. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Access, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verifies insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility; Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers. Associate Patient Services Specialist: Required qualifications: 6 months of Customer service experience. Preferred qualifications: General office experience. Patient Services Specialist: Required Qualifications: 1 year Experience in customer service or healthcare registration. Preferred Qualifications: Some college level course work preferred particularly Medical Terminology or Medical Assistance coursework Upon hire: National Certification of CHAA Registrar and third-party payor experience. Senior Patient Services Specialist: Required Qualifications: Courses in keyboarding and office practices. 2 years General office experience with public interaction. 3 years Patient access experience. Preferred Qualifications: Courses in medical terminology. Upon hire: Epic Credentialing Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience. Medical setting experience.
