Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks a Scientist in the Technical Integration organization and reports to the IH Technical Integration Manager. Scientist personnel are responsible for working in multidisciplinary team environments, using excellent written and verbal skills to support the Industrial Hygiene (IH) technical processes.

The Scientist's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Communicate and interface with the industrial hygiene sample management organization on analytical sampling methods and requirements.

Assist with the design, development, and implementation of IH methods, processes, and systems.

Support the IH Department forecasted analytical needs.

Evaluate and interpret process knowledge for application to IH requirements.

Perform technical review of analytical results.

Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignment.

Interface with technical staff both internal and external to WRPS to address existing and emergent IH needs.

Proactively participate in a safe workplace environment.

Complete required training as scheduled.

Alert management to problems, trends, and concerns.

Required Qualifications

Grade 18:

Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry or an applicable science related field.

Seven (7) years of laboratory related experience.

Grade 19:

Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry or an applicable science related field.

Nine (9) years of laboratory related experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Desired Qualifications

Advanced degree is preferred.

Experience with industrial hygiene discipline is preferred.

Experience with Industrial Hygiene sampling and analytical methods preferred.

DOE site work experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Grade 18:

Hiring Range Minimum: $104,175

Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425

Grade 19:

Hiring Range Minimum: $114,475

Hiring Range Maximum: $144,325

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
