Job Description Summary SWING SHIFT This position is responsible for the direct operations associated with cleaning and sanitation throughout the plant. This position requires being actively engaged in safety, participating in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, requires performing risk assessments and demonstrating ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other Team Members. Job Description Individuals in this position must: * Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members. * Train sanitation personnel in cleaning procedures and techniques. * Have the required knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their use, safety precautions, proper cleaning techniques, methods, and procedures. * Prepare the cleaning chemicals and oversee the foaming process in preparation for scrubbing. * Oversee the general cleaning of floors, walls, equipment and tools. * Issue all cleaning equipment including wet suits, safety glasses, face shields, buckets, brushes, scrapers, or other items as required. * Inspect areas in the plant to evaluate the cleaning and sanitizing to insure the plant is cleaned in accordance with State, Federal, and Company standards. * Communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors, team leads, and maintenance personnel on sanitation issues. * Ensure all equipment is properly tagged and locked out before cleaning. * Must be lock-out/tag-out qualified. * Must be able to keep a professional attitude in stressful situations. * Must actively practice and abide by all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and general hygiene regulations as outlined in the employee handbook. * Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards associated with the task being done. * Be knowledgeable of proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques. * Participation in AMD * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
