As a Rods Manufacturing Technician in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Rods/Bundles/Cage Product Center Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit. Duties will vary according to the specific area to which employee is assigned; however, all assignments involve training to gain knowledge of applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Process Specifications, and Quality Control Standards. Must be willing to work around chemicals. Must be willing to work shift rotation. Will be asked to work around radiation. Duties could include: Basic parts preparation per SWIs/SOPs. Perform basic assembly and fabrication operations. May utilize scales, calipers, cutters, crimp tools, inspection tools and various other small hand tools in the daily operation of job. Accurately enter/scan completed production data into system. Set up and perform the most common or routine dimensional and visual inspections in an assigned area. Move material and product in the work area by proper handling method. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. May assist with minor equipment maintenance, repair and inspection, following detailed procedures, and report defects to supervision. During lull periods of production, may be required to work in other cost centers. This may include cleaning and wearing a respirator. Properly handles hazardous materials.
