Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.In this position, you will provide technical support for Energy Service in Energy Industries, will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of ABB 800xA (Distributed control system) at ABB customer facilities at the Hanford Nuclear site under general supervision. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software, as well as assisting with any projects, upgrades, new installations, and advanced services for the technician's assigned customer or region. This individual will be required to work independently or as part of a small site team to provide service for customers of ABB distributed control solutions.Reporting to the Western Region Operations Manager, your hands-on experience and knowledge of customer needs will help you not only to build strong customer relationships, but also to actively identify and develop new business opportunities.Your responsibilitiesMaintain ABB's suite of distributed control system (DCS) hardware and software. Handle customer questions about the state of the ABB system.Handle customer service related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on-site. Deal directly with, and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors, and other ABB personnel in support of service operations.Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Training on ABB products and services will be provided; however, a good understanding of computer networks, DCS systems (architecture, project engineering and Human Machine Interface (HMI) / graphic creation) is required in order for the training to be beneficial.Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers.
