Job Duties/Scope Of Work Essential job duties of this position include: - Act as ambassador for the adoption of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)-based solutions in alignment with Hanford Mission objectives and leadership guidance. - Act as a primary point of contact for GIS, driving day-to-day client engagement and adoption of products, and handling escalations as needed. - Establish new and maintain in good standing existing customer relationships. - Manage GIS projects from initiation to completion in accordance with site and industry standards and in alignment with Geospatial & Operations Site Systems Manager guidance. - Employ knowledge of GIS concepts to ensure solutions meet customer needs and efficiently make use of modern standards and tools. - Ensure all GIS software and systems are maintained and upgraded to meet industry standards, comply with security expectations, and provide users with a modern GIS toolset. - Maintain knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies. - Ensure data is managed in compliance with site standards and industry regulations. - Independently manage project resources and regularly provide input regarding performance of resources to leadership. - Prepare and present project status reports. - Prepare, present, and work to project schedules. - Prioritize work in alignment with roadmaps, strategic planning, and leadership guidance. - Ensure project artifacts are compliant with current documentation standards. - Proactively identify and readily communicate project risks, including but not limited to resource needs, hardware/software deficiencies, and process bottle necks. - Prepare, present, and work to reliable project estimates. - Provide input to program strategic planning. - Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by Geospatial & Operations Site Systems Manager. Basic Qualifications - BA/BS degree in a business-related field or geospatial-related field, plus eight (8) years of experience - OR - an equivalent combination and experience. - Direct experience in managing geospatial, location intelligence, an/or technology related projects. - Exceptionally strong organization skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently as well as successfully lead team efforts. - Advanced understanding of geospatial solutions, location intelligence concepts, and GIS components. - Strong social skills and the ability to employ tact and discretion to effectively communicate in various different scenarios and to a wide range of customers (i.e., C-suite, field crew, analyst, etc.). Relocation May Be Authorized Desired Qualifications - Advanced understanding of the software development life cycle. - 7+ years' experience using and supporting applications and systems. - 7+ years' experience using GIS. - 2+ years' managing geospatial and location intelligence related projects. - 2+ years' experience in federal government related project leadership. - Familiarity with the Geospatial Data Act of 2018 and how it impacts government work scope.
