Job Title Procedure Writer Support Location RICHLAND, WA 99352 US (Primary) Job Type Full-time Job Description SUMMARY Assist in the development of procedure system products, to include drafting, editing, revising, and comment resolution for the U.S. Department of Energy, Richland Operations Office (DOE-RL) and Office of River Protection (DOE-ORP). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Review new and existing procedures to determine whether they are executable. Interface with RL and ORP Management System Champions, Stewards, functional Points of Contact, managers, and subject matter experts. Assist in the development of system reports. Provide briefings related to procedure development activities. Provide recommendations for improving RL and ORP's management system procedures and products. Provide support to Department of Energy (DOE) continuous improvement efforts. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of business/technical writing. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing administrative and technical procedures. Ability to work in a collaborative manner with diverse technical subject matter experts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Power Point. Hanford General Education Training (HGET). Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required). DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Excellent communications skills. Working level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities. Working level knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures. Familiarity with the DOE Hanford Procedures System (DPMS) or equivalent. Job Requirements WORK SCHEDULE Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. TRAVEL The expected travel time is less than 5%. DRIVING REQUIREMENTS None. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a hybrid setting. Employee will work both remotely and on-site at the Department of Energy government offices, the Hanford Site, and Richland, WA. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage.
