We're seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Power BI Developer to join our team at PNNL as a key member of our analytics team. As a seasoned expert in advanced data analysis, you'll play a critical role in driving business insights across the organization by designing, developing, and maintaining complex reports, dashboards, and visualization solutions that integrate large-scale datasets.

Responsibilities
Interpret complex project requirements from lead analysts and translate into technical specifications, leveraging expertise in data modeling, visualization, and reporting
Develop and refine business intelligence solutions that meet user needs, using Power BI's advanced analytics features (e.g. AI-powered visualizations, machine learning models)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive analytics-driven decision-making, including driving stakeholder engagement and adoption of new tools and methodologies
Stay up-to-date on the latest Power BI updates, best practices, and emerging trends in advanced analytics
Design, develop, and maintain complex, data-driven reports, dashboards, and visualization solutions using Power BI Service, Desktop, and advanced analytics tools (e.g. DAX, Power Query, Power Pivot)
Collaborate with senior engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to turn large-scale data sets into integrated, high-performance Power BI reports that drive business insights
Leverage expertise in data modeling, visualization, and reporting to develop customized analytics solutions for complex business problems
Assist in leading the transition of OBIEE reports to Power BI
Contribute to PNNL’s advanced analytics community of practice, including research and development of new tools and methodologies
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience -OR-
PhD and 1 year of relevant experience -OR-
AA and 14 years of relevant experience -OR-
HS/GED and 16 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience applying theoretical/fundamental computer science concepts through the design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of computer infrastructure and networks
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in data modeling, visualization, and reporting with Power BI (Service, Desktop), including expertise in DAX, SQL, and data modeling concepts
Familiarity with Oracle database and other relational databases is a plus
Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis, using techniques such as data wrangling, ETL, and machine learning
Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams to drive analytics-driven decision-making

In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
