Job Summary

The Readiness Assurance Contractor Assurance (RACA) Performance Assurance Specialist II is responsible, under the supervision and direction of the WTCC Contractor Assurance Manager, for supporting the organization’s implementation of Performance Assurance program.

This position will assist in supporting Perfothe corrective action management program as identified in DOE O 226.1B, Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy. Duties include; corrective action development, extent of condition evaluations, effectiveness reviews, generating monthly reports, reporting and developing performance metrics, trending, assessments, lessons learned, and related activities within the organization.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC


  • Maintain expertise with the projects Contractor Assurance System requirements and procedures

  • Develop/maintain/analyze Performance Indicators to monitor Contractor Assurance System (CAS) effectiveness.

  • Develop/monitor of corrective action plans

  • Perform/monitor extent of condition evaluations

  • Perform/monitor effectiveness reviews

  • Monitor corrective actions and lower level issues

  • Perform human performance and data analyses

  • Support development of lessons learned to support opportunities for continuous feedback and improvement

  • Assist in administering the project’s Corrective Action Review Board

  • Timely reporting of contractor assurance issues and events to management

  • Performs other RACA activities as directed by management

  • Support the Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise.

Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in performance assurance, or issues management, including issue identification, analysis, prioritization, corrective action plan development and implementation, development of performance indicators or metrics, trending analysis, and/or lessons learned.

Experience in maintaining assessment processes, schedules, impacts, outcomes, and issues.

Knowledge of DOE O 226.1B, Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Issues Management (IM) software-Devon Way products, previous qualification as Cause Analyst.
