We are currently seeking a part-time temporary Network Engineer!

The responsibilities for this Network Engineer position include:

  • Design and implement network infrastructure solutions that meet the organization's requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather network requirements and provide technical expertise during the design and implementation phases.

  • Configure and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and protocols, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

    This position involves a combination of remote work and onsite work at a nuclear facility in Richland, Washington. Note that this position requires rigorous testing related to the nuclear industry, extensive background checks, drug testing, and evaluation by a psychologist.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • CCNP level Network engineer or equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in networking concepts and technologies.

  • Proven field experience with hardware refreshes, switches, and firewalls, specifically with Cisco model 9300 switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Cisco firepower software modules.

  • Enterprise-level working knowledge of IP networks, routing, switching, and network protocols.

  • Extensive expertise with Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) mode firewalls, including migrations from ASA with firepower to FTD.

  • Proficiency with Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) management platform.

  • Expert knowledge and implementation experience with security features and best practice configurations for Cisco FTD firewalls via FMC and Cisco Catalyst switches.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Salary Range

    $95,000 - $110,000
