An advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (MS 1-2 yrs. Or PhD 1-3 yrs.). In applicable status a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 yr. engineering degree. As a Mechanical Engineer, in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include: Design and maintenance of nuclear fuel fabrication plant manufacturing equipment Design mechanical systems that satisfy applicable mechanical standards, human factors, installation/cost, and maintenance best practices. Oversee field work including new installations, integration into existing systems, and troubleshooting as required. Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards Consults with engineering staff and technicians/craft to ensure compliance with design specifications and plant or industry standards. Apply advanced techniques in CAD and incorporate standard design applications. Start up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of process and production equipment and associated facilities and support systems. Support of 24/7 fuel manufacturing facility in engineering projects and maintenance. The candidate will be required to learn existing plant systems and support improvement projects and maintenance activities at a facility with highly automated chemical processing and assembly equipment.
