GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide department level leadership and management for the Engineering Projects organization with the primary mission of developing and managing capital projects that include design, implementation planning and implementation to the highest level of quality, cost effectiveness, and reliability standards in the industry. The manager has overall responsibility for successful completion of projects including management of vendors, contractors, regulatory engagement and external stakeholder communications. The responsibility also includes managing major projects such as station license renewal, and other engineering projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide focus and direction that supports the plant and Energy Northwest objectives by:

  • Establishing the vision, goals, clear expectations and standards of performance and strategic plans that aim the organization toward continual improvement in teamwork, productivity, and quality of work.

  • Leading the development of programs, processes, schedules, and procedures that drive safe, efficient, and productive work practices.

  • Establishing and maintaining highest standards of Project Management including establishing the processes and developing Project Managers.

Provide the support necessary for the group to be successful in accomplishing their goals and commitments by:

  • Assuring that training is developed and accomplished, and is effective and efficient.

  • Assuring the availability of resources by preparing and managing the budget, acquiring the required parts, materials and services, and improving the talent of the organization through acquisition of both permanent and contract personnel.

  • Identifying project risk and mitigation actions and costs to reduce risk.

  • Interfacing with other plant, corporate organizations, and external agencies and stakeholders to obtain funding support, develop project scope, coordinate planning, scheduling, and to resolve financial, technical and personnel issues to ensure productive utilization of resources and schedule adherence.

Manage through planning, directing, controlling, and monitoring the organizations programs and activities by:

  • Designing and developing effective project plans, programs, processes, procedures, and schedules.

  • Assuring that administration of the bargaining unit contracts are consistent within the organization and that labor contract issues or disputes are addressed and resolved promptly.

  • Establishing clear expectations for performance and monitoring to ensure alignment with internal and external schedule, quality, and cost expectations

  • Managing vendors and supplemental personnel to the highest industry standards.

Evaluate the performance of the organization by:

  • Developing performance indicators which track organizational performance against goals, schedules, commitments, and regulatory requirements.

  • Reporting progress, trends, and changes to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Evaluating organizational effectiveness and aggressively implementing corrective actions where performance does not meet expectations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and fifteen or more years of related experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least ten years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

OR an associate degree and nineteen or more years of related experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least ten years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

OR a high school diploma or GED and twenty-three or more years of related experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least ten years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

Three years of direct experience in project management or oversight is required.

Management (Plant) Certification or previous senior reactor Operator License is required.

PMP or other project management certification is required.

This position is open until filled.

Pay Range

$181,146.00 - $271,720.00 Annual

Midpoint:

$226,433.00

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
