Job Duties/Scope Of Work The Electrical Utilities Work Control Manager plays a crucial role in developing and coordinating Work Management activities within an electrical utility organization. This position requires both independent initiative and collaborative efforts with the Work Management team to oversee program operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient resource allocation, which involves strategically managing personnel, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines. The manager is tasked with maintaining adherence to electrical utilities industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies, ensuring that all work management activities comply with relevant electrical safety codes and standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter responsible for: •Providing direction, guidance, and support to team members. •Acting as the Work Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the organization. •Identifying and resolving workflow disruptions and inefficiencies. •Collaborating with Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and Project Managers to develop strategic solutions. •Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly work management reports. •Overseeing work management processes, including planning, work directive changes, close-out, and records retention. •Acting as a change agent to integrate Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) principles. •Ensuring work is screened against the Davis-Bacon Act requirements. •Communicating effectively with management and internal/external stakeholders regarding work. •Distributing lessons learned and feedback to facility/project personnel. •Assigning personnel to work management functions and overseeing their training and qualification. •Ensuring resources are available to support planning and resolving conflicts during work planning and execution. •Reviewing the CMMS backlog to ensure effective management. •Approving work scope and ensuring it aligns with work instructions. •Ensuring hazard controls are tailored to specific activities and appropriate reviews are documented. •Leading efforts to advance work planning and performance by engaging management and advocating for process participants. •Performing other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications •BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education. •Prior experience in a leadership role (team lead, supervisor, manager, etc.). •Experience in Work Management, Planning & Scheduling, or a related discipline. •Must have strong organizational skills. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation. •Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. •Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, along with proven leadership qualities, managerial and communication skills. •Ability to think strategically, lead a diverse team, and have a firm understanding of the business goals and priorities. •Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Desired Qualifications •Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, with an in-depth understanding of electrical safety codes and standards, such as those set by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). •Extensive experience in electrical utilities management, including managing electrical utilities operations and experience with power distribution, transmission, and generation systems. •Minimum of 5 years of work management experience. •5 years of related experience, preferably with the Department of Energy (DOE) or in Work Control.
