Job Description Summary The Maintenance Planner I plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of equipment in the food manufacturing environment, contributing to the overall success of the production process. This person will have the responsibility for planning maintenance resources to support equipment inspections and repair to meet plant operational goals and minimize plant downtime. This includes resource scheduling and materials procurement necessary to optimize available plant maintenance resources and scheduled downtimes. This person will work closely with a computerized Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS), inventory control and purchasing program(s). This includes resource assessment and materials procurement necessary to optimize available plant maintenance. Responsible for implementation, operations and maintenance of computerized maintenance management and inventory control system. Job Description * The ideal candidate will provide periodic training on the computerized Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintenance technicians. * Determines and assigns priorities for all preventive and corrective work orders. * Develops and maintains a plant hierarchy system with all plant assets and equipment. * Ensures new equipment is captured in CMMS and maintenance specifications, warranty, bill of materials, and recommended spare parts are entered. * Plans and schedules all preventive and corrective repairs with support from plant supervisors and leadership. * Accurately determines the labor and material requirements for work requests. Initiates the purchasing steps necessary to procure needed materials. * Collects equipment specifications and expands/updates the plant hierarchy system to include equipment specifics such as drives, bearings, belt sizes, and other pertinent equipment information. * Develops and maintains a backlog of work orders in "ready" status. * Reviews completed work orders for proper documentation and feedback on changes, revisions, and suggestions. * Works closely with the maintenance supervisors to determine and assign priorities for all work orders. * Writes additional PM's as required through failure analysis to improve plant reliability. * Analyzes work order process and system to provide feedback on problem areas. * Develops reports that will be used by the maintenance management group to ensure resources are properly utilized. * Ability to perform all receiving, purchasing, supply room, buyer, and maintenance planning functions. * Develops list of parts needed to support the long range plans for scheduled plant shutdowns. * Audits work orders t
