Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is looking for an Industrial Hygiene (IH) Operations Support Specialist to provide support to staff within the IH Department. Under general supervision of the IH Business Services Manager the Operations Support Specialist acts as an independent contributor in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignments. The individual is able to execute complex, business-sensitive, and proprietary duties with discretion. Interfaces with senior management, client representatives, labor representatives, and regulators, as necessary to execute IH Department business. Involved in decisions and actions that have a high visibility impact on the successful achievement of company goals.

  • Maintains and supports Corrective Action Management (CAM)/iCAS Action Request and Condition Reports.

  • Participates in iCAS screening committee.

  • Participates in causal analysis and root cause analysis, as needed.

  • Provides event critique and investigation services, in support of project work (i.e. fact findings, critiques, event investigation teams).

  • Track and trend department goals according to key metrics that are measured throughout the organization.

  • Participates and/or leads evaluations, management observations, and assessments, POMCs, trends and metrics.

  • Interfaces with management to develop and respond to external assessments and audits.

  • Supports development and preparation of reports, and provides presentation of findings.

  • Coordinate implementation of IH programs and technical procedures in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies to support worker safety.

  • Assist with the record keeping in compliance with 10 CFR 851. Ensures accurate record keeping; maintains records in accordance with applicable Records Inventory and Disposition Schedules (RIDS).

Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones. Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate to peers and management.

Must take prompt action to accomplish assigned objectives and understand/identify issues and opportunities.

Extensive working knowledge of safety and health subjects related to CFR 1910/1926 and 10 CFR 851 with focus in Industrial Hygiene.
