Job Duties/Scope Of Work Perform the job duties and possess the qualifications of a firefighter paramedic. Perform all phases of advance emergency medical service activities and maintain Washington State Paramedic Certification and continuing education requirements. Maintain ambulances and medical inventories and follow EMS protocols as established by the Medical Program Director. Perform suppression, rescue, hazardous materials response, inspection testing and maintenance duties in accordance with NFPA requirements, as required by DOE Order 420.1. This is a Journeyman level position initially assigned to a day-shift Mon-Thurs during initial training, progressing to the 48-96 shift schedule as training is completed. Multiple Openings *Please note applicants must apply through both the National Testing Network (NTN) site and the HMIS job site.** To view Hanford Fire Department NTN job posting, please copy the provided link below. https://nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/index.cfm Basic Qualifications •Possess a high school diploma or GED. •Prior full-time paid experience as a Firefighter Paramedic. •Washington State Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic. •Firefighter certification at the IFSAC, ProBoard, Washington State Apprenticeship Council -- Journeyman, Firefighter 1 & 2 level certification. •Haz-Mat Awareness and Operation's certification. •Washington State - Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic. •Must have passed a local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) incumbent Firefighter Physical within last calendar year. •Must meet predetermined medical/physical fitness requirements. •Must pass an annual HFD physical fitness assessment. •Must possess/obtain and maintain a valid WA State Driver's License. •Successful applicants must continue to meet all required certifications and standards throughout employment, (i.e.: NPFA Standards, DOE Orders, medical, security, fitness, etc.). Desired Qualifications •Prior experience as a professional full-time paid Firefighter.
