Job Description

  • Responsible for performing professional financial/accounting activities including the maintenance, control, analysis and development of complex financial/accounting records, reports and systems. Provides business advice and services to management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws, regulation, policies and good business practices

  • Responsible for adherence to communication of business policies and procedures, including the training and interpretation for the various organizations supported

  • Identifies opportunities and issues and brings them to management's attention

  • Competent in basic area of expertise. Uses professional concepts; frequent use and application of financial and accounting standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques

  • Applies and develops extensions to existing methods to resolve new or less well-defined problems. Understands theory behind PNNL financial/accounting policies, systems and procedures. Understands regulatory framework within which PNNL operates

  • Manages personal work. Exercises judgment within defined financial and accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

  • Has internal and some external contacts. Gives task direction to nonexempt staff. Influences others and is a positive role model on teams

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills both orally and written are desirable

  • Must be willing to work as a team member and be willing to work cross-functionally across the Lab

  • Knowledge of Federal Property Management Regulations

  • Certified Professional Property Administrator (CPPA)

  • Must have a high level of initiative and demonstrate skills as a proactive problem solver and be able to interact positively with all levels of staff in the execution of job responsibilities
