Project Overview

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Do you have a passion for helping protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest? We want you on our team!

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Job Summary:

This position has accountability to the Support Services Manager and performs the daily activities of office services functions, such as space allocation, office moves, facility operations, leasehold alteration activities, security and access control, mail and shipping, messenger service, office supplies, furniture and equipment, telecommunications and miscellaneous services. Participates in the development of new or improved processes and procedures.

Full-Time In Office: This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.#LI-HB1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the performance of office services functions, such as office moves, facility operations, security and access control, food services management, reproduction, telecommunications, mail and shipping, messenger service, travel, office supplies, furniture and equipment, and miscellaneous services.​

  • Performs tasks such as delivering packages or picking up small purchases​.

  • Oversight and maintenance of vehicle(s) in safe, clean, and serviceable condition​.

  • Maintains facilities, files, drawings and plans​.

  • May act as focal point for outside contract driving services. ​

  • Coordinates and sets up onboarding of new staff, meetings, project functions, arranging for facilities, equipment, and catering.

  • Coordinates with building owners/property managers to ensure safe operation, maintenance and repair of building infrastructure and systems.

  • Applies applicable building codes to space reconfigurations and furniture placements.

  • Utilizes electronic work request system to review and process work requests, coordinates activities with requestor, and follows through to completion.

  • Utilizes general hand tools, including small power tools, in the execution of tasks.

  • Performs periodic building walk downs to ensure accuracy of furniture/equipment placement and to identify safety concerns.

  • Primary or backup for mail services; to include shipping and receiving activities, operating postal meter and/or company mail system, generating and providing support for shipping labels, daily site travel for mail services and deliveries, town office key inventory, and other miscellaneous mail services.

  • Operates company provided vehicle in performance of tasks.

  • Coordinates scheduled subcontracted/vendor activities of escorts service providers.

  • Performs daily personnel add/exit activities.

  • Relocates personnel, office furniture, computers, full moving boxes, and other items/equipment.

  • Reconfigures, assembles, and disassembles a variety of multi-part workstations.

  • Coordinates the usage, allocation, and replacement of multi-function copy machines.

  • Coordinates the following activities in their assigned buildings; vending machines, shredding/recycling, coffee services, etc.

  • Coordinates Inventory/Disposition process for Offices Services

  • Independently adjusts priorities according to emergent work.

  • Maintains awareness of developments in equipment, software applications, technology and processes related to applicable service areas.

  • Contributes to work process improvements and provides input to work planning activities.

  • Performs other Support Services work assignments as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires 2-4 years of related experience.

  • Experience with building support in a Department of Energy environment is preferred.

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)

  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)

  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Must be able to work overtime.

  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs., including bulky items. Utilize mechanical equipment or team member for weights above 50 lbs.Ability to spend at least 30% - 60% of the workday walking, standing, and bending.

  • Ability to operate company provided vehicle in performance of tasks.Possess a current valid driver's license.

  • Possess intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to handle routine items independently.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.

  • Ability to work with confidential material and maintain strict confidences.

  • Effective interpersonal skills (ability to communicate to all levels of the organization) with a positive, customer service-oriented attitude.

  • Must be able to adapt readily to new software applications associated with facilities management, and other facilities related programs.
