Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) manages one of the most challenging radioactive waste cleanup projects in the country. Our focus is reducing the environmental risk posed by 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks on the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. WRPS is seeking an Emergency Preparedness/Operational Drill Coordinator responsible for providing support to the EP Managers and the Enhanced Operational Drill Lead. The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to following activities:

  • Conducts work within ethical standards established by the company.

  • Maintains all business records and reports properly and honestly, protecting company and customer assets.

  • Ensure contract requirements and DOE Orders are effectively implemented and flowed down appropriately.

  • Review operational procedures to assist with the design and development of EP/operational drills.

  • Develop and write drill plans and reports with suggested corrective actions.

  • Develop and conduct trainings associated with the EP/operational drill program.

  • Track Performance Indicators and provide resolution for negative trends.

  • Review and assist with the development of procedures/documents that affect the implementation of an effective EP/operational drill program.

  • Coordinate with SMEs and facility management for development and preparation of scenario library.

  • Conduct program planning and small project design as needed for program expansion.

  • Support EP drills to facilitate Emergency Response Organization (ERO) proficiency and maintain the emergency preparedness program.

  • Conduct field surveillances and management self-assessments as directed.

  • Participate in on-call duties as assigned.

  • Participate in off-shift drills as needed.

  • Participate in the Hanford Site Exercise Program.

  • Serve as a member of the Hanford Site Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

  • Will be required to obtain EP Coordinator qualification card.

Required Qualifications

Grade 16:

BA/BS Degree in Emergency Management, project management or a related field and two (2) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Grade 17:

BA/BS Degree in Emergency Management, project management or a related field and five (5) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Grade 18:

BA/BS Degree in Emergency Management, project management or a related field and seven (7) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in one or more of the following disciplines: operations – nuclear chemical operations, field work supervisor, industrial hygiene, field safety, radiological technician, industrial firefighting, or related field.

  • Experienced with DOE Orders and regulatory compliance

  • Experienced Drill Coordinator that has written and conducted drills.

  • Completed FEMA ICS courses 100 & 200

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $86,138

Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425
