Amentum Environmental Shift Representative Supervisor in Richland, Washington
The Environmental Management group supports the planning, development, implementation and oversite of Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) procedures and/or work packages that are used to comply with environmental program requirements including air, wastewater, and dangerous waste permits and licenses. Environmental management support throughout the commissioning will be required to ensure Plant Operations has technical staff on site to interpret and resolve permit conditions to ensure compliance and to maintain operations in a compliant manner.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Assists the WTCC Environmental Supervisor with compliance oversight, requirements flow down and implementation, and day-to-day environmental concerns and response activities.
Responsible for development and implementation of field environmental compliance programs and procedures.
Responsible for providing environmental assistance to engineering, construction, start-up, and commissioning organizations by addressing environmental issues during project execution.
Oversees collection of environmental data required for environmental reporting.
Conducts environmental notifications, and drafts reports for submittal, to DOE and regulatory agencies.
Performs and/or monitors field execution activities and engages in corrective action management to maintain compliance/performance.
Provides field support for regulatory agency inspections.
Works directly with WTCC management and staff to assure environmental requirements are correctly integrated into implementation documentation.
Coordinates implementation with functional managers to meet project milestones.
Develops facility specific knowledge and applicable permit requirements.
Responsible for professional development of the Environmental Shift Representatives to ensure team has knowledge and skills to maintain compliance with applicable permit and other regulatory requirements during all phases of project activities.
Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides day-to-day direction and technical oversight to Environmental Shift Representatives performing environmental compliance, waste management, and chemical management activities.
Education:/Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in an engineering or science field from an accredited college or university and 15 years of progressive environmental related experience, 5 of those years in a supervisory or lead role.
OR
Associate’s degree in an engineering or science field from an accredited college or university and 17 years of progressive environmental related experience. 5 of those years in a supervisory or lead role.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 19 years of progressive environmental related experience. 5 of those years in a supervisory or lead role.
Required:
Must possess good oral and written communication skills, specifically in the preparation of permits, resolution of technical issues, and communication with regulatory agencies.
Prior practical work experience in field environments (e.g., construction execution and/or operating facilities) performing the responsibilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Access, Visio, and Power Point.
Previous environmental compliance experience in the nuclear industry for commercial and/or DOE project activities.
Demonstrated understanding and involvement in managing environmental permit modifications.
Experience with the application of air quality, water quality, waste management, and Department of Transportation regulations in an operational setting.
Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
Previous experience working with regulatory agencies and demonstrating environmental compliance.
Prior experience managing staff (providing direction, positive feedback, confirming progress and evaluating performance).
Previous experience developing and maintaining an ISO14001 compliant environmental management system.
Selected applicant must be able to be on-call 24/7, as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual
Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Position is on-call 24/7, as needed.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $131,484.26 - $211,024.41 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
