Keeping Washington Clean and EvergreenThe Nuclear Waste Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an Environmental Restoration Project Manager (Nuclear Waste Program Specialist) position. This position is located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA. In this position, as the project manager you will oversee the cleanup of the soil and groundwater at the Hanford Site. This challenging job needs a dynamic person who can drive the project forward to complete physical work demands. Some of the challenges in this project is the coordinating of both the WA State Dangerous Waste (DW) Regulations and the Federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) Regulations. Some of the soil sites are regulated under the DW Regulations and either overlie or are adjacent to CERCLA Operable Units. The Nuclear Waste Program's mission is to lead the effective and efficient cleanup of the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site; to ensure sound management of mixed hazardous wastes in Washington; and to protect the state's air, water, and land at and adjacent to the Hanford Site.
