Job Duties/Scope Of Work HMIS Engineering provides multi-discipline engineering and technical support to the following areas of infrastructure services supporting the Hanford Site. Current Priority Openings • Engineer experienced in municipal water systems • Fire Protection Engineering Discipline Lead (PE License Required) • Fire Protection Engineers (All Experience Levels) • Experienced Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Engineers • Electrical Utilities Engineering is responsible for all aspects of electrical distribution, metering, and monitoring across the Hanford Site. This includes system health reporting and support for upgrades and corrective and preventative maintenance. • Water and Sewer Utilities Engineering is responsible for providing resources to maintain the function of the raw and sanitary water delivery systems for the 100 and 200 Areas of the Hanford Site. This includes system modelling and health reporting and support for upgrades and corrective and preventative maintenance. • Facilities/HAMMER/Roads/IT & Technical Security Engineering provides support for facility maintenance, refurbishments, capability transfers, Information Technology/ Telecommunications activities, Nuclear Material Security, and HAMMER. • Fire Protection Engineering is responsible for providing resources for fire systems maintenance (across multiple Hanford Site contractors), configuration management of HMIS fire-related systems, and support for the identification and implementation of fire protection design requirements into new and existing infrastructure upgrade projects. • Project Engineering Support is responsible for providing dedicated resources to support the planning, design, and construction of reliability projects and other upgrade initiatives. This group also provides definition and management of subcontracts for procured engineering designs and services. • Central Engineering Support is responsible for creating and maintaining engineering drawings, procedures, and standards. Additionally, support is provided for other processes such as engineering approvals for commodities purchases, non-conformance reporting, waste shipments, and management of several subcontracts. PROFESSIONAL LICENSING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT Professional licensure of our engineering staff is encouraged and supported. Additionally, HMIS recognizes the unique and specialized nature of the fire protection engineering discipline. Considering this, HMIS will invest in the development and professional growth of qualified candidates in this arena to establish the necessary experience and credentials to excel in this discipline. JOB DUTIES/SCOPE OF WORK Currently there are multiple Engineering positions open that we would like to fill with qualified candidates. Specific placement of qualified candidates into the HMIS Engineering organization will be determined based on an assessment of submitted credentials and information, work experience, and information gathered during interview(s) and review of resume. ENTRY LEVEL (Grades 14 - 16) Under general supervision of Engineering Management: • Complete HMIS-specific training and engineering qualification activities. • Develop plans, designs, analyses, calculations, technical reports, and associated implementation strategies to document work performed to apply new or existing technology in alignment with established engineering standards and Hanford Site requirements to support the effective and efficient execution of the mission. • Assist with the development of or author technical reports and gather data to support configured system health reports. • Support the design, installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of installed systems, structures, and components (e.g., pumps, piping, electronics, controls systems, fire systems, etc.). • Provide technical support, field support, and assist
