Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our growing Nutrition Services team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details : Full time, 1.0. Variable shifts.
Two years restaurant or institutional cooking experience required.
Current Food Handler's Permit required.
GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution preferred.
Additional food preparation coursework preferred.
Institutional food preparation training preferred.
Healthcare cooking experience preferred.
ServSafe Certification preferred.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Cook you will remain responsible for the preparation of foods for patients, the café and others as directed, following standard practices and procedures and performs related duties as assigned.
Follows standardized recipes, bakes, roasts, grills and steams meat, fish, vegetables, desserts and other foods as required.
Portions cooked foods to assure effective portion control and optimum utilization of foodstuffs.
Handles food products safely during preparation, service and storage.
Serves food in the Garden Café during peak meal time.
Maintains the cooking area in a clean, neat and orderly manner, completes deep cleaning assignments.
Plans cooking schedules to meet meal deadlines and maintain department standards for food quality.
Plans cooking schedules to meet deadlines (30 Minute delivery promise) and maintain department standards for food quality.
Applies knowledge of modified diets appropriately during food preparation and service.
