Job Duties/Scope Of Work The Chief of Hanford Patrol reports to the Director of Safeguards and Security and is responsible for leading the Hanford Protective Force in the protection of Special Nuclear Material, Critical Infrastructure, Government Property and Hanford Personnel. This position will be responsible for the implementation of requirements associated with DOE Orders, 10 CFR 1046 and 1047, the Atomic Energy Act, and DOE contractual direction. This position will also serve as the interpretive authority for policy and direction, and will provide guidance for the DOE Protective Force. The successful candidate will manage the Hanford Patrol Organization with over 200 Armed Officers, the majority of which reside within the Hanford Guards Union. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring readiness and preparedness for response activities, and will coordinate activities with Safeguards and Security, Hanford Fire, Emergency Preparedness, Other Hanford Contractors, as well as Local Law Enforcement. Basic Qualifications • A bachelor's degree and progressive experience in an organization comparable in size and complexity within a Protective Force - OR - a commensurate combination of experience and education. • Prior experience in a leadership capacity related to law enforcement. • Current certification or ability to recertify as a DOE Security Police Officer. • Maintain standards in 10 CFR 1046. NOTE: This position will require the successful candidate to maintain a Q Level clearance as well as HRP certifications. Desired Qualifications • 12 years of experience, with at least 3 years serving as a manager or executive within a Protective Force. • Experience managing Bargaining Unit personnel and administration of a Collective Bargaining Agreement. • Experience providing contract deliverables and official correspondence.
