You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Designer/Drafter in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Advanced Reactor Support Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include: Under moderate supervision, prepares drawings and sketches using CAD workstations and appropriate design criteria and technical manuals. Works closely with engineers to ensure coordination of designs. Exhibits a full understanding of the materials and methods used in drafting while also possessing a basic understanding of the design process and following skills: Develops working drawings, within company and industry standards and codes, from equipment specifications and detailed drawings. Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures. Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications and has a basic understanding of the engineering design process. Proficient with AutoCAD and architectural design. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management. Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team. Familiarity with nuclear fuel fabrication processes. In addition, the employee must be able to: Remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel and crouch. Operate computer on a continual basis and communicate with various levels of the organization. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds This position requires occasional travel.
