Summary of Duties:

The Administrative Assistant position provides confidential and high-level administrative, general office management, and program support to the Office of Admissions. This position is the main point of contact for Admissions and exercises independent judgement and discretion for planning, organizing and prioritizing work, developing and compiling reports, processing and updating fiscal needs, and assisting the Director of Admissions with operational processes and procedures. This position is also responsible for personnel duties as they will serve as the primary HR partner in Workday for the department.

This position initiates actions to ensure work unit and office goals are met and has frequent contact with students, clients, the public, faculty, staff, and other WSU offices and units. Assignments and projects are of a complex nature requiring substantive knowledge of a variety of regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and processes. They will coordinate special events and projects on behalf of Admissions. This position is responsible for a variety of functions that include but are not limited to office space management, equipment purchases, personnel administration, records management, recruitment, fiscal and budget support, and report preparation.

Required Qualifications:

One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher. Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Monthly Salary: Range $3,145.00 to $4,174.00 A-M |

 

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://https/app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
