Job Duties/Scope Of Work The Business Process Compliance (BPC) & Invoicing team is looking for an accountant to perform invoicing and accounts receivable reconciliations. This position will be responsible for the preparation and submittal of bi-weekly and monthly invoices. The accountant will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the data, and then accumulate, assemble, and provide supporting documentation with the invoices to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. The successful candidate must maintain a high level of communication and responsibility to internal and external clients, while ensuring invoice records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, and while reconciling with the business management system. Under the supervision of the BPC & Invoicing Management, provide all accounting support listed above to other team members, applicable HMIS management, and Other Hanford Contractors, as well as the following essential job duties: •Perform independent reviews of the invoicing data by developing Microsoft Excel Pivot-Tables. •Perform monthly account reconciliations. •Perform independent data queries from the accounting systems. •Perform data queries and information gathering to support accounting related audits. •Perform monthly account reconciliations. •Perform independent reviews and develop recommended enhancements to invoice related desk guides and procedures. •Implement solutions to resolve customer questions/concerns in a timely manner. •Monitoring the receipt of invoice payments and other cash flows. •Ensure reporting deadlines are met. •Prepare accounts receivable and cash management reports. •Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. •Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of invoice and cash management policies and procedures and other duties as needed and as deemed appropriate by management. Basic Qualifications •Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related degree, and 3 years of related experience, -OR- an equivalent combination of education and experience. •Must possess analytical and decision-making skills. •Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. •Demonstrated skills in accounting. •Ability to communicate effectively both in writing, verbally, and interface effectively with all levels of management. •Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access. •Must have a working knowledge of financial reporting/analysis, be a team player, highly motivated, organized, focused, and able to multi-task. Desired Qualifications •Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). •Audit background. •Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). •Government owned contractor operated accounting experience. •Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRIS/Financial Applications, Asset Suite, and Crystal Reporting or similar systems desired but not required for consideration •Familiarity with Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
