The Boeing Company Training Systems Integrator in Renton, Washington

The Boeing Company is seeking a Training Systems Integrator in Renton, WA.

This position will act as the Deputy Global Head of Training (Level 5) and will be working with our network of global flight training professionals to advance strategic goals, collaboration efforts and flight training initiatives that support the delivery of commercial aircraft flight training, delivered to our global airline operators.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Collaborating with the campus heads of training and training development team to review and shape customer technical training needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives, and design, to ensure accuracy and quality of training products.

  • Partnering with campus training teams to identify, develop and deploy, training concepts, techniques and processes. Use software tools to configure, maintain, update and collaborate in the development of new and existing media/materials for delivery of training.

  • Representing flight training on new airplane program development programs.

  • Participating on teams supporting flight training needs in our core systems (i.e. IPSS, CACTUS, Comply365, ATC3)

  • Assist in gathering data and building business cases to support flight training tool enhancements. Identify resources for departmental activities and lead process improvements to ensure instructors have the qualifications and materials necessary to deliver cost-effective, high quality, state-of-the-art instruction.

  • Support proposal development activities in support of sales campaigns.

  • Consult with training and professional services stakeholders regarding final product quality.

  • Support global delivery of flight training with standardization of instructor technical knowledge and instructional competencies.

  • Develop and execute integrated flight training departmental plans, policies and procedures and provide input to interdepartmental business regarding technical strategies, goals, and objectives. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customer stakeholders and campus heads of training.

  • Connect with innovation team on research and evaluation of airline customer pilot's training needs and then assist in the creation of flight training programs and schedules for customer airline pilot training.

  • Assist in the evaluation of new style of training devices and ensures the courseware is properly reflective of equipment changes. Evaluates and is involved in the acceptance of new state-of-the-art flight simulators, training devices, and computer programs.

  • Responds to customer airline queries regarding flight training matters, flight training plans, and flight training devices.

  • Collaborate with the campus heads of training on instructor development by establishing procedures for the training and qualification of new instructors. Assist in the mentoring of instructors as appropriate and promote the standardization of instructors, curricula and courseware. Identify and recommend changes to current practices to improve training effectiveness, improve presentation and/or instruction methods, reduce training time, and increase instructor utilization rates, etc., in a cost-effective and/or value-added manner.

  • Maintain pro-active coordination with Flight Training Standards, seeking common solutions to standardization issues and insuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensure that the programs are in compliance with regulatory bodies, by coordinating directly with the Director of Training and Director of Standards, if applicable, to ensure standardization between Lead and Satellite training programs.

  • Assist in developing and delivering the agenda for periodic instructor meetings.

  • Travel for work 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree

  • Currently qualified or have ever been qualified as a flight training instructor

  • Hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or foreign equivalent

  • Have a Flight Training Background in large commercial or military aircraft

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Have current (within the past 5 years) Instructor Pilot experience.

  • Qualified candidate will have been have qualified as a FAA Instructor Pilot or as a Military Instructor Pilot.

  • Experience in large-scale (preferably airplane-related) simulation, airplane flight dynamics, performance and/or commercial flight training.

  • Have experience dealing with regulatory agencies or federal regulations.

  • Have experience supporting reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements.

  • Have experience working with aviation regulatory agency requirements (FAA, JAA, EASA).

  • Experience with FAA or foreign aviation or aerospace regulatory processes.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 15 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 13 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
