Job Description The Truck Shop Specialist works with Kenworth R&D and Marketing Department to support the R&D truck fleet including scheduling, detailing, component purchasing, and maintenance. The Truck Shop Specialist acts as a support system to the truck shop's operations and is a key role in ensuring the company's vehicles are in good working order and meet the company's standards. Job Functions and Responsibilities: Managing the truck detailing process which includes cleaning, polishing, and maintaining the appearance of company's trucks Work with Marketing on maintaining the R&D truck calendar to support Kenworth events Communicate information needed for purchase orders related to truck maintenance including the tracking of invoicing, shipping, and receiving Maintaining accurate records of all truck repairs, maintenance, and service, including parts used, labor hours, and costs. Managing and maintaining the truck shop inventory, identifying & restocking parts and supplies as needed. Communicating between R&D, vendors, and internal departments to ensure that customer needs are met, and that work is completed in a timely manner Qualifications and Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent Auto or Truck detailing experience preferred Attention to detail, including the ability to identify and fix imperfections in the paint, bodywork, or interior Understanding of cleaning products and techniques to ensure the truck is cleaned effectively The ability to operate cleaning equipment is essential; must know how to efficiently operate hand tools or power tools and follow the safety policies Knowledge of current diesel engine and vehicle technologies Must have or be willing to get certifications to perform DOT inspections for Class 8 Vehicles Effective Communication, Organization & Time Management Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications 50 lb Lifting Requirement Unlimited physical dexterity Must demonstrate flexibility to meet changing priorities.
