Once the order is validated, this position will prepare the order for release to materials and operations by ensuring an accurate bill of material is generated and the truck components are placed on the chassis frame layout model that meets standard engineering specifications, customer requirements, and safety/compliance standards. Job Functions / Responsibilities Analyzes and adjusts order content related to compatibility, engineering, and compliance standards and calculations. Contacts dealers to clarify sales orders and/or make recommendations related to proper component usage and/or chassis layouts. Coordinates with Design Engineers and Application Engineers to obtain input/direction related to chassis configuration. Customizes sales orders and/or system generated bill of material indexes based on reported exceptions in order to generate accurate part requirements and build instructions. Completes chassis frame layouts per Engineering guidelines and specifications using 3-D modelling software. Incorporates customization related to design engineering direction and sales option change orders. Implements continuous improvement efforts related to job functions. Desires to understand new activities and functions of other roles in the department as requested by supervisor and/or manager. Qualifications College degree in related field preferred; High School diploma required; May consider experience in product engineering related positions.
