Providence St. Joseph Health Principal Software Engineer IS, Database Architecture in Renton, Washington
Description This position is part of the Administrative Technologies Software Development team, currently focused on enabling financial workflows for the Providence Organization. It focuses strongly on the database architecture of a system meant to provide a set of statistics to the finance decision makers, on a daily basis. The Principal Software Engineer takes end-to-end ownership for development and quality of solutions and services that delight caregivers and add strategic value to Providence St. Joseph Health. They evaluate requirements, estimate costs, and design and implement solutions and services. They define and implement the quality criteria for their solutions and services, using measurements and insights to understand and validate the quality of experience for caregivers. They manage and improve the engineering process, manage risks, dependencies, and compromises, and integrate software into broader ecosystems and/or solutions and services. They consistently and strongly demonstrate a sense of personal accountability for the quality and completeness of the entire solution or service and resulting caregiver experience. Staff in this role bring together an informed mix of experience of technology, product, and business acumen. They are adept at designing and documenting systems. They act as the primary expert in multiple areas as they help us transform healthcare through technology that is smart, sophisticated, user-centric, and measurable. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent educ/experience 8 years related experience; software development preferred with increasing scope and responsibilities Extensive experience with object-oriented programming in C#, Java, Python or equivalent Experience with source code control systems such as Git and how to successfully use them in across multiple teams Extensive SQL integration development experience with SQL/noSQL Extensive experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, and Jira Proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team Extensive experience with Azure/AWS/hybrid and other cloud technologies Experience designing and successfully implementing a highly complex project Preferred Qualifications: Experience with finance industry concepts Experience with healthcare facilities key statistics and concepts Experience with Snowflake data warehouse Experience with Azure SQL cloud database Experience with ETL and large datasets processing Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent educ/experience Salary Range by location: *hourly listed - position is salaried NorCal (Napa, Sonoma) Min: $68.90, Max: $117.31 Southern California, NorCal (Humboldt) Alaska (Kodiak, Seward, Valdez) Min: $61.41, Max: $104.56 WA Puget Sound Oregon (Portland) Alaska (Anchorage) Min: $58.92, Max: $100.31 Oregon (Hood River, Medford, Seaside) Min: $54.92, Max: $93.51 Eastern Washington (Richland, Spokane, Walla Walla) Min: $52.43, Max: $89.26 Montana Min: $47.43, Max: $80.76 Texas/ NM Min: $44.94, Max: $76.51 Why Join Providence?
