Responsibilities include:
Open and close exam lanes and ensure all supplies are stocked.
Communicate patient flow with the team to keep the schedules running on time.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and waiting area for patients.
Completes various documents and forms such as consent forms, FMLA, work releases, etc.
Take patients' medical histories, perform workups, and perform ophthalmic diagnostic exams to obtain the information needed for diagnosis
Operate ophthalmic equipment
Sterilize instruments to maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
Assist providers in performing ophthalmic procedures
Help clinical functions, such as room flow, the status of the patient, and the provider
Help instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditions
Assist with applying dressings to the eye post-surgically
Ensure all medical records are accurate and complete
Triages phone calls from patients and outside contacts
Maintain flexibility and perform other duties as required.

Requirements
Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Basic math skills
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products, and strong keyboarding skills.
