TITLE: Manager Medical Staff Office

*JOB OVERVIEW: *This is an exempt, professional position. Provides management and supervisory functions for the Medical Staff Office.

AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: Medical Staff Office

HOURS OF WORK: Typically, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or as needed to complete work

RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Medical Staff Services

PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent years of relevant and applicable experience may substitute.

  • Three years of extensive experience working with the credentialing process and other Medical Staff Services functions.

  • Current certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services as Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).

  • Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience required.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and proficiency with one or more credentialing database applications.

UNIQUE JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Manager of Medical Staff Services will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory agencies (i.e., Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), Washington Department of Health) and federal and state regulations.

Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations of the medical staff and policies and procedures related to the medical staff.

Ensure timely and efficient processes for coordinating the credentialing and privileging of new medical staff members through the maintenance of credentialing database system.

Apply the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of medical staff services; assess and monitor medical staff services department functions, processes, and systems; analyze trends and implement changes as required.

Ensure Medical Staff Office and credentialing processes are following medical staff policies and procedures, The Joint Commission, legal and all regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

Ensure compliance with delegated credentialing agreements.
