Renton Technical College Maintenance Mechanic lll in Renton, Washington

Position Join our team at RTC! This full-time, classified and overtime eligible position is part of the Facilities team and reports to the Facilities & Grounds Services Director. The Maintenance Mechanic 3 assists the Facilities and Grounds Services Director in the day to day operations of the department, interacting with college staff, contractors, and maintenance crew members as directed by the Director. The Maintenance Mechanic 3 also performs their regular duties listed below and may assist with routine general maintenance tasks. We are hiring 2! The Maintenance Mechanic 3 represented by the AFT-WA Employees Association, reports to the Director of Facilities and Ground Services. The pay range for this position is $5,984-$8,250 monthly and salary placement is based on applicable work experience. Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include

 

Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. 

Complete and process facilities work orders.

Positively interact with college staff to investigate facilities related work requests.

Observe shop safety, shop organization, and the care/ inventory of shop tools and equipment.

Assist in the daily inspection of campus facilities for emergent repair needs.

Perform all building and equipment maintenance and repair as requested.

Diagnose system failures and take corrective action.

Do scheduled maintenance on control systems.

Maintain equipment service and maintenance schedules.

Perform preventive maintenance on the following equipment, etc.:

  • compressor air system
  • valves, pumps, water heater, gas PRV's
  • plumbing fixtures, domestic water system
  • air handling units, radiant heat system
  • exhaust fans
  • overhead rolling doors

Perform classroom/lab renovations to facilities as educational needs change.

Take appropriate action to ensure that all equipment is maintained in serviceable and operating condition.
