TITLE: *Linen Aide *JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for a variety of linen duties in and around the hospital. Delivers clean linen to all departments to provide the linen needed for daily patient care. All other duties as requested/required. ROLE: See job description for Service Partner for generic job duties. AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: As listed in the department master schedule and monthly work schedules. RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager/Assistant Manager/Supervisor of Environmental Services.
PREREQUISITES:
Six months of experience in linen or related services.
Demonstrates understanding of mathematics, written and verbal communications in English.
Successful completion of the Worksteps evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Communicates effectively in English.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
Able to work on assigned shift.
Able to work on weekends.
Works independently.
Transports various carts of clean linen supplies within the area of assignments and throughout the facility.
UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to standing during entire shift. The job includes walking on hospital campus approximately 5 hours or more depending on job assignment. Requires pushing/pulling of linen carts requiring a push/pull force of 66 lbs. Requires bending, stretching, stooping, reaching overhead, and twisting of wrists and arms. Lifting up to 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and/or equipment/additional personnel. Exposure to physical elements including heat, cold and fumes.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Unique Job Functions:
Transports/stocks assigned tasks and projects in the assigned area according to department procedures.
Fills out daily usage forms daily, turns it in to the shift supervisor at the end of the shift, and communicates all pertinent information regarding the assigned work area to the shift supervisor.
Communicates any linen needs/maintenance/repairs and other concerns to the shift supervisor at the end of the shift.
Responds to customer linen requests in a timely manner.
Collects and transfers linen from the hospital to designated areas.
Cleans linen distribution carts so that dirty carts are never used in the hospital.
Sweeps, dust mops and wet mops floors in designated areas.
Monitors quality, reports repair
