The Infrastructure Engineering team supports technologies that provide Naming, Authentication, Directory, Security, and Connectivity services on a global scale for the enterprise and its business partners. Core team members primarily focus on high level, enterprise initiatives and projects that support the global service technologies like DNS, AD, DHCP, PKI, ADFS, LDAP, and more. Team members often act as PMs, consultants, architects, and analysts depending on the project or initiative needs.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for planning, engineering, implementation, configuration and maintenance of geographically distributed Microsoft Active Directory network operating systems and other supporting infrastructure. This includes oversight and collaboration with many different regional technical teams, business partners, and vendors in addition to leadership.
The position researches, evaluates, develops and maintains standards, procedures and performance requirements for the Active Directory Enterprise network environment.
Creates and develops written documentation for both internal and external use. Documentation includes Active Directory technologies, scripting, tools, utilities, strategies, planning, standards, policies and procedures.
Creates and maintains internal training materials, establishes operational procedures and provides training to appropriate Regional IT staff.
Designs and implements reliable and scalable Active Directory applications with the highest degree of vision and security to protect the business and clinical information of the organization.
Leads, coordinates, and participates in key process improvements for the AD network environment across the organization.
Schedules installations, upgrades, configurations, and maintenance in accordance with established policies and performance levels.
Designs, defines and configures hardware and software backups and recovery procedures to ensure full AD infrastructure recovery.
Provides technical leadership and supports server and application development teams throughout project lifecycles. Participates in the design and ongoing review of AD technologies and strategies as well as evaluating and selecting emerging technologies.
Ensures that AD technologies and implementations comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
Provide server administration functions for specifically assigned infrastructure servers (Domain Controllers, DNS and DHCP) dispersed throughout the enterprise.
Provides engineering for network integrations or connectivity of acquisitions, business partners, vendors, and other external entities.
Work with all appropriate internal and external resources to provide timely resolution of global and local issues.
Support and configure Infrastructure applications such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, Group Policy, LDAP directory services including the ldap proxy, Site Link and Schema Management.
Provide clear, concise and complete communications for operational changes and problem notification, escalation and resolution.
Participate in an on-call rotation, and be available to work outside normal business hours as needed.
