Requisition Summary PACCAR is a global truck technology leader with operations around the world. The Digital Solutions team is helping PACCAR make better decisions faster by moving to the cloud, adopting DevOps/CICD best practices, and unlocking a new level of productivity & value. We are looking for technology leaders to drive this evolution. We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator of SQL and PostgreSQL databases to manage thousands of enterprise-level databases in a scalable database solution. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning new technologies and implementing them to empower internal customers and scale the existing platform. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliable business and communication skills and works with business and technical teams. In this role, you would serve as the expert at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, and low-cost database solutions. The Database Administrator would design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance database structures. Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling. Will provide operational database services to the organization, and own, track, and resolve database-related incidents and requests. On a day-to-day level, there will be database backups, maintenance, monitoring, and responding to database-related alerts and escalations. The DBA would be tuning performance on queries running over millions of rows of data. The person in this position should be analytical, have a high customer focus, and have a passion for process improvement. The Database Administrator should be a motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and have excellent business acumen and communication skills to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions. Job Functions/Responsibilities Design, implement and support SQL Database transactional and data warehouse infrastructure on-prem and in the Cloud, such as AWS and Azure. Installation, administration and configuration of PostgreSQL. Performing PostgreSQL and SQL DB patching, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities. Support for Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS. Conduct performance tuning for SQL Server in various aspects such as Server, database, and stored procedure. Generate scripts for database deployment. Familiar with DevOps methodology to automate the database deployment. Provide database support estimates for new projects. Support multiple RDBMS engines and work in the AWS Cloud or Azure environment. Support for Agile projects related to databases. Contributes to and maintains database standards.
